Every day we are constantly being bombarded with negative thoughts and ideas that can easily impact our daily lives. There seems to be no shortage of bad news being announced in the newspaper, television, radio, and on social media.
What Are Affirmations?
If we are not hearing about the pandemic then we are hearing about people being murdered in the streets. If we aren’t hearing about earthquakes, fires and floods in various places throughout the world, we are worried about financial ruin with the stock market. It’s enough to make you want to disengage and take cover until things get better. However, it is almost impossible for us to ignore what appears to be the everyday state of affairs in our world.
One of the ways we can combat the things that seek to keep us mentally stressed and emotionally drained is by practicing and incorporating positive affirmations into our daily routine. Affirmations are not a magic cure, but they are declarative statements that can help refresh your mindset and calm your spirit.
They are short statements of positivity that are used each day to remind you of the power you possess within. We may not be able to change the whole world, but we have the power to change the world right where we live. As you continue to read, make sure you take each one of these affirmations and commit them to memory and learn how to make them work for you.
An Affirmation for Gratitude
Even if your life isn’t exactly what you want it to be at the moment, there is something very powerful about being thankful. It is easy to think that someone who is rich or someone who is educated has a better life than we do, but that is not always the case.
Everybody has problems and there is no perfect situation; therefore, we must learn to appreciate what we have and work to make it better.
You are the only one who has the ability to make changes in your circumstances so let’s start now by adopting a positive attitude.
An Affirmation for Fear Of Failure
How many times have we failed to act because we were afraid of what people might think about us or what they might say? The truth is, most of the fear we feel is not based in reality, but comes from things we can’t explain.
The fear of failure; the fear of ridicule; the fear of defeat and all other fears we can conceive of are not always as bad as we imagine them to be, but we must confront them in order to move past them.
No one is saying it is easy to overcome a lifetime of doubt and uncertainty, but it can be done if you are willing to believe in yourself and change your mindset day-by-day. Fear will keep us paralyzed and bound as long as we leave it unchecked. Therefore, it is our job to change it.
An Affirmation for Mistakes
One of the biggest reasons why people don’t move forward in their lives as much as they could is because they are worried about mistakes they have made in their past.
Regardless of how perfect people may appear, we forget that everyone has made some type of mistake in their life. No matter who you are, if you dig deep enough, something can always be found that is not flattering to the image that has been created.
We can continue to let mistakes hold us back or we can acknowledge them and work to make our lives better despite them. Some mistakes we can’t change, but we can learn from them and make them work for us. It’s a choice only we can make.
An Affirmation for Motivation
There are times in our lives when we may not have control over the things that shape who we are, like our nationality, sex, stature, eye color, etc., but these characteristics can be used to help form the basis for who we are and what we become.
Just because a person is born into a wealthy family doesn’t automatically guarantee success; just as someone who is born into poverty doesn’t always mean failure in life.
Although we ultimately control what we do with the things we have been given, it is our attitude that will help us excel to the heights we want to achieve. Once we recognize the power we possess to choose our own destiny, it is our job to make it happen.
An Affirmation for Self-Confidence
Sometimes our attitude is holding us back from receiving good things in our lives. The truth is, sometimes we really don’t believe we are worthy of goodness and we unwittingly sabotage anything good that comes our way.
We have to realize that anything good that happens for someone else can happen for us. We are only limited by our own thoughts and actions; therefore, our job is to expect the best and we will receive the best.
We must not only say we are worthy, but we must believe we are worthy and act accordingly.
Take a little time everyday to invest in yourself. Others may recognize your value, but it’s up to you to keep yourself motivated to become all you are capable of being.
